urban planning | JAGUARAO - BR AND RIO BRANCO - UR
Jaguarão and Rio Branco. Two sister cities that can disagree sometimes, however present a great partnership coming from a rooted bond not only from territory but also culturally. They could have grown as one city, but the waters of the Jaguarão River brought them apart, the same waters that brings them together. A feeling of fraternity that revealed it self through the years despite the differences.
Thinking about the development of one city we end up thinking on the other one. The connectivity is one of most motivators subjects of this relationship. For the broad futures we conceived a city without cars, with practice of the urban agriculture, parks and the interaction with the historical heritage. For that reason is proposed preservation areas, parks and squares, light transport methods and the preservation of the national historical heritage.
A language that can make the two cities communicate and connect the two countries in a resilient way. The urban mash was planned the way it could be a continuity of the existing drawing, not linear but organised, because both cities have the tendency of growing in a more organic way. The mobility was prioritised in a clean and efficient way, with bus lines that can support both cities in general as well as a tram line that can connect both cities on a faster way.
